Finding the Right Match
Is Ayr Mental Health a good fit?
Is Ayr Mental Health a good fit?
Ayr Mental Health PLLC is an outpatient telehealth practice specializing in the evaluation, medication management, and ongoing treatment of adults.
While I treat a wide range of mental health conditions, some concerns are better served by a different level of care, medical specialty, or treatment setting. To help you determine whether Ayr is the right fit, you'll find a clear overview below of the conditions I don't treat, services I don't provide, and recommendations for where to seek the most appropriate care.
Conditions I Do Not Treat
It may not be the right fit if you're seeking care for:
Primary psychotic disorders (schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder)
Bipolar I disorder requiring higher-acuity management
Active eating disorders needing specialized or multidisciplinary treatment
Substance use disorders requiring detox or medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
Moderate-to-severe neurocognitive disorders, such as dementia
Because this is a small outpatient telehealth practice, it also may not be the fit if you:
Are in an active psychiatric crisis, or having active suicidal thoughts that need crisis support
Have had a recent psychiatric hospitalization
Need a higher level of care such as inpatient, partial hospitalization (PHP), or intensive outpatient (IOP), or frequent in-person monitoring
Prescribing note:
I do not prescribe benzodiazepines or manage tapers of benzodiazepines
Services I Do Not Provide
Emergency & Higher-Acuity Care
If you're in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911
Emergency psychiatric evaluations or crisis stabilization
Inpatient psychiatric care
Forensic & Legal Evaluations
These answer legal questions rather than provide treatment, and require a neutral evaluator role.
Court-ordered psychiatric evaluations
Forensic evaluations or expert witness services
Competency evaluations
Independent medical evaluations (IMEs)
Fitness-for-duty evaluations
Court-mandated domestic violence evaluations or intervention programs
Disability & Occupational Evaluations
As your treating provider I can share clinical documentation about your ongoing care, but independent determinations require a separate evaluation process.
Independent disability evaluations or determinations
Long-term disability assessments
Disability-related medical opinions for legal or insurance proceedings
Neurocognitive & Specialty Testing
These require specialized testing administered by neuropsychologists or other trained specialists.
Formal psychological or neuropsychological testing such as full-scale IQ tests, objective personality inventories, and specialized diagnostic batteries used to formally rule out autism spectrum disorder, identify personality disorders, evaluate intellectual functioning, or differentiate complex psychiatric conditions from organic cognitive decline.
Cognitive batteries / neurocognitive assessments such as the MoCA or RBANS, which utilize targeted subtests to measure memory, attention, and processing speed in order to rule out dementia, track cognitive decline, or evaluate the functional impact of a traumatic brain injury.
