MEET YOUR PROVIDER
My Story
Hey there! I'm Stacey.
I chose nursing because I've always been drawn to helping people through some of life's most difficult moments. Over the past 16 years, that calling has taken me through many areas of healthcare, but it ultimately led me to psychiatry.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent more than a decade caring for critically ill patients in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU), along with years of experience in surgical and procedural care. My path towards psychiatry began in a psychiatric facility, where I cared for patients living with severe, treatment-resistant mental illness.
It was through that work that I saw firsthand how profoundly mental illness can affect every aspect of a person's life, and how often those who struggle are judged or stigmatized rather than supported. I knew I wanted to be the kind of provider who helps people feel seen, understood, and genuinely cared for — so I became a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
I believe mental health is rarely just about mental health.

My Approach
Connecting the Dots
Sometimes the pieces don’t seem to fit neatly together. Difficulty focusing, disrupted sleep, anxiety, changes in mood, low energy, or simply feeling unlike yourself can overlap in ways that aren’t always easy to see. I look for the connections between these experiences and everyday life — not just the diagnosis on the chart.
Medication, therapy, and lifestyle are all useful tools that often work best in conjunction with one another. Rather than relying on just one approach, we use these tools in combination to connect the dots and move toward better focus, steadier energy, and greater calm. The approach is individualized, practical, and evidence-based. Medication is important, but it's not the only tool in your toolkit. I also consider foundations like sleep, physical health, stress, and lifestyle when they may be affecting how you feel and function.
Small-Scale by Design
I look at the bigger picture, recognizing that symptoms can overlap, mask one another, or change over time. For some people, this can mean years of feeling like something was off, followed by a series of providers and treatments that addressed individual symptoms without always connecting the dots.
Ayr was created to be intentionally small. Longer visits and continuity with the same provider create space to understand your history, recognize patterns over time, and make thoughtful adjustments — rather than reducing care to a quick medication check.
On a Personal Note
When I'm not working, you'll usually find me spending time with my family, enjoying a quiet day at home, or learning something new. I'm an introvert who loves exploring new ideas and creative projects. Someone once told me to keep creating, because creating feeds the soul — and I've carried those words with me ever since.
You may also catch a glimpse of my Bengal cat, Lucia, during a telehealth visit. She's small but fierce, loves to stay close by, and occasionally decides she'd like to join the session too.
Outside of my practice, I volunteer with NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness), the nation's largest grassroots organization dedicated to support, education, and advocacy for people affected by mental illness.
I've learned that understanding what someone is going through isn't always easy. Even people who care deeply may not know what to say, what to do, or how to respond. Misunderstanding, fear, and silence can leave people feeling isolated when they need connection most. That's why reducing stigma and raising awareness mean so much to me.
I also know what it means to be more than what others see on the outside — that life can be complicated, that health and mental health are deeply connected, and that sometimes we're doing our best while carrying things no one else can see. These experiences have shaped the way I care for others — not from a place of having all the answers, but from a genuine belief that every person deserves patience, compassion, and to be truly seen.
At the end of the day, I am not just a provider behind a screen. I am a person who values comfort over perfection, meaningful conversations over small talk, and authenticity over appearances. You may find me in my favorite black yoga pants and Converse more often than dressed up — and that is exactly how I like it.
